All positions are voluntary at this time (we are capable of giving shining references!). LNPB seeks dedicated and dependable people for the following:

Grant Writer
So we can start paying our talent! Need we say more?

Event Assistants:
Be there for LNPB art exhibit openings (occurring annually in early June and November), street fair tabling appearances, and other community events ready to hit the ground running on a variety of simple, yet important tasks. Vehicle may be useful, but not necessary for all assistants.

Experience needed:
Depending on the event, some assistants may need to attend a meeting before the day of the event for additional instruction/rehearsal of duties.

Dates needed:
•August 18, 2008 (run, walk, ride - see Ride Tally Ride below)
•November 6, 2008 (exhibit opening)

Workshop instructors & assistants:
Teach plastic craft workshops or be there as support for instructors. Lead informal monthly plastic craft groups during the day or evening. Classes may be for children or adults. Est. commitment: 3 hrs/month + prep time as needed.

Experience needed:
Participation in a LNPB art exhibit or experience in environmental and/or art education.

Community kitchen liason and instructors/assistants:
Make certain lost kitchen & beauty arts, including homemade toothpaste, look as easy and practical as they are by helping LNPB develop partnerships (a.k.a. finding kitchens) for teaching the craft of mixing yogurt, cheese, and cosmetic creations (but not all at once)! We need one liason/organizer and instructors with expertise in any of the above.

Experience needed:
Community & volunteer organizing or the time/energy/drive to succeed!

Dates needed:
•to be announced

LNPB in the Schools liason and instructors/assistants:
Make sure kids know how to LNPB. We need one liason/organizer and instructors/assistants interested in artistic environmental education. Liason will also have interest in researching plastic curriculum available for classroom use. Est. time commitment: 10hrs/week (liason); min. 3 hrs/month (instructors)

Experience needed:
Participation in a LNPB art exhibit or experience in environmental and/or art education.

Dates needed:
•Fall 2008, approximately three hours/day, two days/month for three months + meetings and one Saturday event (Can be split among liason and instructors/assistants).

Volunteer Coordinator
Recruit and orient Event Assistants and fulfill other functions depending on interests. Estimated commitment: 10 hrs./week

Experience needed:
Initiating structure to a growing grass-roots program and working/maintaining volunteers for a variety of tasks.

Web Deplasticizer
Oh the power you wield. It'll take you little time to do what takes this pseudo webmaster *f o r e v e r* to get done. Let's come up with a plan and work on making this site an even more user friendly tool for change. Bring your ideas. Estimated commitment: 10 hrs./week

Experience needed:
Website development for positive change-oriented groups, web-based fundraising know-how a plus, but not a must.

-Ride, Tally, Ride- Bike Ride Leaders
Like a beach clean-up without the beach and on a bike! Pick a route, gather a load and meet at a designated location to clean and tally the items, even brands, of plastic. The found material will be re-used for art demonstration/exhibits or, maybe even recycled in the industrial sense.

Experience needed:
Volunteer organizing and networking, program and resource development. Estimated commitment: 10 hrs/month, perhaps more initially.
