MISSION:
Leave No Plastic Behind aims to creatively enlighten consumers of
all ages about the impact of single-use plastic on social progress
and the environment. Through a series of awareness raising events,
this collective (of new and established artists) considers the true
costs of modern convenience and demonstrates the importance of collaborative
resourcefulness between consumers, their communities and business.
This project continues to be inspired by "Garbageland" by Elizabeth
Royte , "The Ethics of Waste" by Gay Hawkins, "Gone Tomorrow:
The Hidden Life of Trash" by Heather Rogers—and its relevance
is affirmed by the research of several
organizations and news articles.
CALL TO ACTION:
•Adopt the LNPB
participant guidelines into your routine!
• Educate yourself on the role of waste and recycling throughout
U.S. history and gain a whole new perspective on what it means to
be a consumer in this country.
• Decide how you can be part of this movement, whether as
an artist, family, business, and/or educator and please notify
us of your wish to participate in any way.
